About

I hold a PhD in Finance from the Swiss Finance Institute at the University of Lugano and a summa cum laude master’s degree from Bocconi University in Italy. I was a research fellow at Harvard University in 2014–2015. Before joining Tilburg University, I was a full professor of finance at EDHEC Business School in Nice, France, and earlier an economist at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland.

Research field

My research focuses primarily on two areas: asset management and household finance. I investigate how asset managers make trading decisions and what drives households into financial distress.

Personal (non academic)

I grew up close to Venice, in Italy. I am the proud father of two daughters: Ludovica and Alice.
